This Chinese Hot Pot Sauce is an integral part of the hot pot experience. Itโs bold, tasty, and completes the whole hot pot experience! A lot of Chinese hot pot or shabu-shabu places offer sauce stations where you can prepare your own dipping sauce.

HOT POT OR SHABU-SHABU SAUCE
My easy homemade sauce is a rich mix of Chinese sesame paste, Chinese black vinegar, soy sauce, veg oyster sauce, sugar, chili oil, garlic, green onions, and a few other ingredients that make this sauce incredibly fragrant and tasty. Dipping pieces of cooked vegetables or tofu into this sauce is makes it so addicting.

Finally a use for the doubanjiang in my pantry ๐ I really liked the sauce, but it used up pretty much all the spoons in our flat.
Haha glad you finally got to use it! And hope you enjoyed the sauce and was worth all the spoons!
Definitely, and there was still enough sauce left over for a second round of hot potting yesterday! This time we had a ้บป่พฃ broth, which I feel kind of requires a sesame or peanut based sauce. Worked best with the tofu skin I think.
I typically donโt leave reviews, but this hot pot sauce recipe is my new favorite :). I plan to make again!
Yay, so happy you like it Emma!! THANK YOU ๐
